Today we took a quiz on literature terms and passed poems that we read in class. I learned I should learn the poems more and ask more questions so I can do better on tests and quizzes. It impacted me because one of the poems called “the road not taken,” I have read in 3rd grade and have to remember what happened in the poem. I will use this knowledge to ask more questions in class which will help me on future tests and quizzes. I feel tired today.

Today we took a little quiz and wrote a paragraph about using google for help instead of a doctor. I learned that you should talk to a doctor instead of using google for help. This impacts me because in always talk to my parents if I have problems with something or talk to a specialized doctor. I will use this knowledge to talk to more people if I need help with something. I feel good today.

Today we annotated the poem. Then we filled out the vocabulary words, two examples of imagery from the poem, the tone of the poem, and summarized each stanza. On the bottom of one side we had to fill out the topics of the poem, the themes, the moral, lesson, or message. On the back of the paper were questions that asked how we relate to it. I learned that time is very crucial when it comes to decision making. It impacted me because I have had to figure out what I should do before I get stuck in a whole and I can´t climb myself out of it. I will use this knowledge to use my time smartly instead of giving it up for the sake of giving it up. I feel tired today. 

 Today we wrote out the themes for the poem, the topics, and whether each theme is a moral, a lesson, or a message. I learned that the poet in this poem liked to go back and do things when he was a kid. It impacted me because I still do things when I was a kid. I will use this knowledge to get my mind off something negative and focus on something positive. I feel tired today.

 Today we finished a worksheet that included you picking an image and what the transformations of those images are. I learned that there are transformations in life as you get older. It impacted me because there are some transformations I have that I can´t say but they somewhat affect me in a positive and negative way. I will use this knowledge to stay a positive person. I feel good today.

 Today we read a poem called ¨Nothing Gold Can Stay¨ by Robert Frost. I learned that you can cherish every moment in life and not take it for granted. It impacted me because I use every opportunity to learn something or improve my well being. I will use this knowledge to not take everything for granted and appreciate every second of everyday. I feel tired because my smoke alarm kept on making false alarms and squeals.

Today we read a poem called ¨Out Out¨ by Robert Frost. I learned that the kid in the story was accidentally under anesthesia, got his arm chopped off, never woke up, lost too much blood, and died. It impacted me because I have been under anesthesia for getting my teeth pulled out and thank God I didn´t get too much of it while the process of pulling teeth happened. I will use this knowledge to understand that death can occur at any point. I feel tired today.

 Today we wrote down fifteen vocab words, filled in the blank, and wrote the word in a sentence but using a synonym instead of using the actual vocab word. I learned new words today from this list of fifteen. It impacted me because I have used some of the words before, but others I have never heard of. I will use this knowledge to use these new words that I learned to have a conversation with somebody or a group of people. I feel tired today. 

 Today I wrote a personal connection, asked and answered two questions, and created a representation of what the story Ambush by Tim O´ Brien is about. I learned that the narrator faced a difficult scenario in the story. It impacted me because I´ve made mistakes not even close to that but it turns into a flashback that I won´t be able to erase from my brain. I will use this knowledge to better choices that are positive and bring me up rather than making stupid decisions which makes me feel like crap. I feel tired today even though it is my birthday.

 Today we wrote four quotes, a summary, using three literary devices, and two themes. I learned that once you do something in your life that impacts you, you have a memory that sticks to your brain that never goes away. It impacted me because I´ve done things in the past that I still have flashbacks from. I will use this knowledge to make smart decisions that can better myself as a person. I feel tired today.

 Today we read a story called Ambush by Tim O´Brien. I learned that in the story the main character killed another person but in his mind he had mixed feelings about it. It impacted me because in the discussion questions some of them asked what would you do if you were in those shoes. I will use this knowledge to make smart decisions in the future. I feel tired today. 

 Today I took a test on the story ¨The Rockpile¨. On the test I learned new vocab words. It impacted me because I´ve taken like this one and was tested on my knowledge of the story. I will use this knowledge to do better in future tests on stories. I feel tired today.
