Claiming Evidence (part 2)

 Today we did the back side of claiming evidence on Columbus. I learned that some students felt betrayed about the fake narrative about Columbus. It impacted me because I like to take a day off from school not just to celebrate Columbus day but to take a break from school and refresh my brain for the next day. I plan to use this knowledge to use evidence from the text to back up my claim in saying that this piece of text is not true. I feel good today.

 Today, we wrote down and discussed the five stages in the writing process on a sheet of paper. We flipped over the back of the paper and drew a brainstorm web. I learned how to organize and breakdown an essay the easiest way possible. It impacted me because I have written essays like this format, but they were not that good.  Today we drew out a writing prompt and from there we took two goals from the prompt and we wrote a body paragraph about that goal. I learned my goals that I can achieve for the future. It impacted me because I believe I can accomplish those goals. I plan to use this knowledge and achieve the goals that I set out for me to do. I am feeling good today.

Typing and Proofreading our First Draft

Today we had a sub and we typed up our first draft, proofread it, and made changes of our goals this year. I learned how that making changes to my first draft makes my writing sound better when you read it. It impacted me because when I change my writing, it sounds way better and looks more professional. I plan to use this knowledge to make changes in my writing so that when you read it, it was not written by a little kid, it was by a professional writer. I feel tired and ok today.
