 Today we finished the research part of our project and we are answering questions from the story. I learned that this story is intense. It impacted me because I´ve done assignments in the past that required me to answer discussion questions from a story. I will use this knowledge to help my understanding of answering questions from a story on a better level. I feel tired today.

 Today we researched specific information about the book ¨The Rockpile.¨ I learned that there were gang fight activities in the story that hurt one of the main characters. It impacted me because last year there were fights each week and people watched it happen. I will use this knowledge to make smart choices as I go on in life and be a successful person. I feel tired today.

 Today, I researched information on the story ¨The Rockpile¨. I learned that this story takes place in Harlem, New York. The family does stuff that is different from what we do in Atlanta Georgia. It impacted me because the boys in the story act like teenagers like me and want to be boy things including hopping off of something. I plan to use this knowledge to make smart decisions in life. I feel tired today. 

 Today we wrote an argumentative one paragraph essay on social media taking major negative and positive hits on young people. I learned that social media can affect your life in a good way by boosting your mentality in a way or it can affect your life in a bad way and bring you down. It impacted me because I use social media in a positive motivational way. I will use this knowledge to motivate me as a person in a positive way and keep striving to be a successful person. I feel good today.

 Today we did the back side of claiming evidence on Columbus. I learned that some students felt betrayed about the fake narrative about Columbus. It impacted me because I like to take a day off from school not just to celebrate Columbus day but to take a break from school and refresh my brain for the next day. I plan to use this knowledge to use evidence from the text to back up my claim in saying that this piece of text is not true. I feel good today.

 Today we wrote claims of evidence from a story that we read. I learned that some of the text that was in the story wasn´t all true. It impacted me because I celebrate Columbus day as a day off. I plan to use this knowledge so I can use logic and reason to state evidence from the text that some of what the article says isn´t always true. I feel ok today.

 Today we wrote ten out of fifteen vocab words on a PowerPoint, Word Document, or Google Slides. I learned new vocab words including dichotomy, ebullient, and desiccated. It impacted me because some of these words on the list I use accasionally.  I plan to use this knowledge and these words to essays in the future. I am feeling tired and jetlagged. 

 Today we talked as a class about the Poem ¨We Real Cool¨ and wrote down what some of the phrases mean from the poem. I learned that you shouldn´t rush to adulthood and don´t be a follower. It impacted me because I´ve watched movies that included these aspects from the poem. I will use this knowledege in the future to be the best version of myself and make smart decisions. I fee tired today.

 Today we identified claims from certain topics. I learned each part of evidence that I pulled out from the text has a different type of claim than the other two. It impacted me because some of the topics that were part of the assignment has to do with my life as well. I plan to use this skillful knowledge to help me be a successful human being in the future. I feel okay and tired today.

Today we took sides on two arguments. After that we supported our argument with our position. Next we put our experiences and observations. Lastly we wrote our reading text from an online source. I learned that there is opinion and taking on different arguments and using your experiences, observations, and readings. It impacted me because some of the arguments I can relate to because I have been in that conversation. I can use this knowledge for future argumentative essays and use my experiences, observations, and readings. I am feeling tired today.

 Today we wrote and talked about three types of evidence. The first one is experience and talks about things you have personally experienced. The next one is observations and talks about things you have observed. The last one is your reading and talks about news, texts, etc. I learned that I can determine which type of evidence goes with a topic. It impacted me because some of the topics that we discussed in class I was part of. I plan to use this knowledge, when I write essays in the future I will remember which evidence is used for each topic. I feel tired and sore today. 

 Today we had a list of topics that we had to make claims about the topics. After that we had to list five details about the topic. I learned that there are different outcomes in the 9 topics that were posted in the assignment. It impacted me because I can use these outcomes from each topic to make me a happy, hardworking, and profitable person. I plan to use this knowledge in the future by using these strategies for being a successful person. I feel tired today.

 Today we had to take an illuminate quiz which had 24 questions talking about the past and how America came from the 20th century all the way up to the 21st century. There was also an essay question discussing the history. I learned the history of what happened way back when in the 20th century. It impacted me because in the future I will be learning in history class what exactly happened during the times of slavery. I plan to use this knowledge to remember what happened 100 years ago. I am feeling tired today.
