Jan 29/30 (Block Day)

My advice that I would set is to not slack off, be myself, try new things, take time to build relationships and friendships. Also respect yourself. I hope to see myself as an NBA player, Olympic track runner, Entrepreneur, or an Amazon worker. Advice that I can give myself is to set reminders in my contacts so that will give me a heads up of what is coming.

My personal approach is to think about what i'm about to write on paper. Talk about the ideas. Sketch it out on paper. Draw the work on paper.

I can't recall a time when I took a break from something because I've been in love with the game of basketball and track and field. I didn't take a break from the sports. I've been grinding all my life trying to prove myself that I'm good at what I do, but I know I can push and do more.

Jan 24 Semester Check

Today we took a Google forms on what our grade is in the class. It impacted me because I've gotten 100% on every blog post and it will stay that way. I will use this knowledge to keep getting a 100 on each post. I feel tired today.

A moment where I felt that I had the power to make a difference was giving out thanksgiving meals to elderly people. At my old school my basketball coach has this thing that he does annually, where every thanksgiving break he has a commercial cart that has three trays, we put food on each of the trays, and we wheel them to elderly peoples doors to give to them.

A place I feel the most peace is at a beach or somewhere that involves the crashing of waves or the pool. When I'm at a beach that has crashing waves, I feel like that's the place to be for me. I feel at home when I'm near the waves cause it's quiet.

A time when someone's words had a lasting impact on me was this past year because I turned 18 in junior and everybody at Lakeside calls be Unc for some reason. It doesn't matter where I am at school, I hear every single day.

Theme and Symbol Collage and Discussion Questions A Lesson Before Dying

Today we made a collage and answered questions on the story A Lesson Before Dying chapters 13-15. I learned that in chapter thirteen Grant reflects leaving the church and thinking that he is not the right man for teaching Jefferson about God. In chapter fourteen we see Vivian showing up at Grant's doorstep. Finally in chapter fifteen Grant and his girlfriend head back to his aunt's house. I will use this knowledge to have a better understanding of what happens in the story going forward with each individual character. I feel tired today.

Reading Chapters 10-11 A Lesson Before Dying

Today we read Chapter 10-11 on the story A Lesson Before Dying and answered what is called S.T.E.A.L characterization. I learned that the character Jefferson was being treated very poorly and was called a hog in the story. It impacted me because I have been called different names in the past that I had to live with and not react to it and not let it bother me. I will use this knowledge to always shine and never let myself down because of what someone says about me.

Reading Ch. 10-11 of Lesson Before Dying

Today we read chapters 10-11 on the story Lesson Before Dying and answered some summary questions on what the chapters were about. I learned that visiting somebody who is about to be executed can be hard but lying to somebody saying I did do that when really they didn't can be hard. It impacted me because I have read books in the past that have the same theme of during this time if something were to happen, you would blame the black man. I will use this knowledge to better understand the details in books like these so I can understand the book when it comes time for a test. I feel tired today.

Honoring President Jimmy Carter

If I was president I would make peace agreements with several countries. Provide healthcare for people who need it. I would make the roads as smooth as possible. End all wars around the world. Lastly, I would leave a legacy behind just like Jimmy Carter for people to remember and respect.

Answering questions about Jimmy Carter

Today we answered questions on a video about Jimmy Carter. I learned that Jimmy Carter left a legacy behind that people still follow till this day. It impacted me because a while ago I visited the Jimmy Carter Center and in there I learned that Jimmy Carter helped kids with Guinea worms disease. I will use this knowledge to follow his legacy and help make a difference in our world. I feel tired today.

Over break

Over the break some family visited my house. I went to different peoples houses of my family and celebrated the Christmas holidays and New Years Day. Some goals that I want to accomplish this year is passing the EOC, complete classwork and homework assignments, pass the normal tests and quizzes, stay engaged in class and don't get distracted, and finish this class with an A.
