Today, we completed chapters 6-7 questions. I learned that Jefferson is still in jail and some characters in the story think that they should not visit Jefferson. It impacted me because it would be hard for me to step in those shoes and act the same way whether to see someone in jail before the person has a sentence. I will use this knowledge to understand that going to see someone in jail right before they are given a sentence will be hard but I have to eat it and deal with it. I feel sick today.

Today we were working on our slide presentation in Adobe Spark on the topics from the book "A Lesson Before Dying." I learned that the character that is being accused for a convicted murder and going to court for it. This was during the Jim Crow Law days. It impacted me because there are still cases to this day that black people get accused of when they don't do anything wrong. I will use this knowledge to explain to somebody that we shouldn't repeat the Jim Crow Law Days and instead not blame anybody for our own mistakes. I feel tired from this week. It's been a long week and I'm happy the Christmas break is almost here.

Today we did a benchmark test which included two passages and questions about them. At the end there was an essay question and you had to write a paragraph to answer it. I learned that on one of the passages it showed that the amendments allow you to have freedom of speech, the press, and freedom of religion. It impacted me because these amendments granted me the right to free speech. I will use this knowledge to always remember that no one can take your freedom of speech away from you. I feel tired today just in general 

Today we went to the Auditorium to talk about this website in clever called Naviance. It allows you to complete tasks you have to finish before graduating Highschool and getting a diploma. I learned that Naviance gives you options to think about what you wanna do after graduating Highschool whether it would be going to college, take a gap year, trade job, freelance, start a business, or take an  apprenticeship. It impacted me because I have been thinking about what I want to do after highschool but I haven't made my executive decision. I will use this knowledge to keep researching about what I wanna do as soon as I graduate highschool and get my diploma. I feel tired today.

 Today we started our Adobe presentation title slide with an animated character and an audio description of ourselves describing which topic in chapters 1-6 in the story "A Lesson Before Dying." For the first time I learned how to create a slides presentation of Adobe. It impacted me because I have created slides on websites like Powerpoint, Slides, and Canva but Adobe. I will use this knowledge to create more slides on this website in the future. I feel tired today.

 Today we read chapter 5 and answered the questions. I learned that in this chapter we learn that during the Jim Crow Laws the differences between a black student school and a white student school. At a black student school, it is located at a church and the pews and tables are used as desks. At a white student school the location is a nice school with actual desks and new books. It impacted me because I have read stories in the passed that included those type of things in the story. I will use this knowledge to understand the story when a test comes around. I feel tired today.

Today we read chapters 2 and 3 and answered the questions about the chapters. I learned you have to have certain qualities in your manhood to be a responsible human being. It impacted me because I'm getting to this stage in my life that I have to not act like a kid, act like a grown man, make smart decisions, and own up to my mistakes. I will use this knowledge to prepare myself for what's to come so I can become the best version of myself as a fully grown adult. I feel tired today.

Today we read the first chapter of "A Lesson Before Dying." I learned that the story includes elements of racism, injustice, and dignity. It impacted me because I have read stories in the past that included elements of racism, injustice, and dignity. When I read it, I couldn't believe the words that were in the book. I will use this knowledge to understand more about these type of stories in the future. I feel okay today.  

 Today we wrote down the definition of fifteen vocab words from Vocabulary Lesson seven. We also wrote down the synonyms and antonyms as well. I learned new words including flagellate, flout, and fetish. It impacted me because I have heard and used these words from this lesson before and still to this day. I will use this knowledge to practice speaking them to my peers or whoever I speak with. I feel sore from a workout I did yesterday.
